The short film program Astres immòbils opens a door to discover new worlds through assertiveness, listening, and mutual respect via the stories that bring them to life. The three narratives propose a journey that transports us to unique visual universes, starting from the symbolism of colors and shapes. They speak of coexistence, the possibility of discovering where each person comes from, and the transcendence of making these emotional journeys. In Astres immòbils we meet Chenghua, a nine-year-old girl who must take on the responsibility of acting as a translator for her Chinese-origin parents, and who seeks escape through her passion for space. In Luce i la roca we discover the friendship between two characters who, despite seeming to have nothing in common, face their fear of the unknown together. In the fable El naixement dels oasis, a cold-blooded snake and a camel with too much heat become friends until the end of their days. Astres immòbils closes the series of three short film programs consisting of La barca del vent and L'illa dels ocells. Each one features a half-length film starring a pre-adolescent girl, thus forming a trilogy of initiation stories about contemporary heroines that we premiered throughout 2022 and 2023.
