On December 30, 2000, a group of friends set out to climb Balandrau. Sun and good weather accompanied the group during the ascent, until, in a matter of seconds, everything changed unexpectedly. A wild wind, known as a torb, triggered the worst storm in the history of the Catalan Pyrenees, a monster of cold, snow and wind that turned the mountain into a deadly trap.
