In the middle of the Cold War and the space race. Laika is a little dog that survives on the streets of the frozen city. She hardly imagines that her destiny will take her to space inside the Sputnik II spacecraft and she will go down in history as the first living being to orbit around Earth and also as a victim of abuses in the power struggles of others. Xirriquiteula Theatre uses, in this show, techniques as diverse as live back-projections, puppets, automata, shadows and the acting interpretation of characters who speak in an invented Russian, accompanied by a beautiful soundtrack. All this very well put together, the fruit of a long and intense collective work where each contributes their skills and knowledge. A show for all audiences, recommended from 4 years old, which speaks of the wonders of the sky but, also, of the injustices of Earth. Why go see it? It accumulates a long queue of prestigious awards, among which we highlight the Max 2021 Award for Best Family Show. (...)
