The Dansat festival goes out into the street! Four short pieces to enjoy dance at Plaça de Can Fabra with three creators with diverse accents: LIMINALIA, Ignacio J. Cabello (15 minutes) SAT! Award, 2025 Dance Award from the Institut del Teatre. Liminalia projects, through dance, the nomadic instinct of the contemporary body in an interconnected world where the sense of belonging has been lost. Four bodies cross their own boundaries, navigating from solitude to the power of the collective. In this timeless, industrial, unstable and transient universe, performers dodge obstacles while seeking to belong. During the journey, the bodies transform until reaching a catharsis of ritual release. Liminalia is a multisensory odyssey where energy and the body transform and boundaries expand and are crossed. Direction: Ignacio J. Cabello / Choreography: Ignacio J. Cabello in collaboration with the performers / Interpretation: Berta Pascual, Joan Aguilá, Julia Pradas and Clara Atmella / Costume: Andrea Verbel / Original sound composition: Uge Pañeda / Lighting design: Tomi Levita STRADA, Cia. Pla Roig (15 minutes) Strada is a journey about the inertia of following a path traced by the murmurs of the past. Inspired by the cinematic universe of Federico Fellini, the piece reflects on childhood, memory and the obstinacy of continuing even though it seems the path has emptied. Idea: Sergio Pla / Creation and interpretation: Diana Wondy and Sergio Pla / Management: Patty Maestre (-) CAPTURA Y FUGA, Cia. José Manuel Álvarez (20 minutes) Inspired by the archive of the disappeared photographer René Robert, Álvarez delves into thousands of photographs to distill the gesture and corporeality of flamenco. An organic and visceral gesture, at once intuitive and impulsive, but also inspired and imitative. A gesture that is born less from academicism than from oral and visual tradition. When this gesture is captured, however, it transforms: the movement disappears to become a static and contemplative image. It is in this tension between movement and stillness, between what flees and what remains, where a space opens to build an imaginary. *From the piece Captura y fuga premiered at SAT! on 23/10/2025. Direction and interpretation: Jose Manuel Álvarez / Co-direction: Marta Piñol / Photo archive: René Robert / External gaze: Joaquín Collado / Musical composition: Jose Manuel Álvarez, Lucas Balbo, Carlos Cuenca, Josep Tutusaus / Costume design: Noel Wals / Photography: Luis Lacau / Production and distribution: Flamenco Projects ROJOS, Cia. Miquel Barcelona (30 minutes) The piece starts from a research on the postwar period of the Spanish Civil War and highlights the dissident voices during the repression through artistic figures, female creators and the homosexual movement. For this re-run of Rojos, the company incorporates dancers from a younger generation. Direction, concept and research: Miquel Barcelona Palau
