Diego Ares

This season, the Palau de la Música Catalana proposes to recover the work of Antoni Soler, an essential figure of Catalan and Hispanic musical heritage. And what better way to do so than with Diego Ares, a harpsichordist specialized in his music. Through Once sonatas for harpsichord and Preludio y fandango, Ares invites us to rediscover a composer who, born in Catalonia and later established in El Escorial, came into contact with international musicians and influences and left behind a keyboard work of great personality. Soler's music has crossed the centuries and has also seduced great pianists such as Rosa Sabater, Alicia de Larrocha, Rosa Torres-Pardo and Luis Fernando Pérez. In this recital, the music returns to the harpsichord, interpreted by Diego Ares, an opportunity to discover, or rediscover, an essential name of our musical history from the sonority of the instrument that brings us closer to his universe.
