In 1958, in Nœux-les-Mines, the North exhales its black dust. Sosthène, himself a miner ravaged by silicosis, treats himself to a black-and-white television to watch Raymond Kopa shine at the World Cup. On their side, his son Pierre and his friend Vlad share the danger of the galleries, pigeon fancying, and accordion rehearsals in Sosthène's orchestra. But the arrival of Leila, a young accordionist with a fiery temperament, will turn everything upside down.
