Exposició "Contrainformació: Video-nou / Servei de vídeo comunitari"

In the context of the so-called Spanish Transition, a group of young people creates a working platform that understands video as an experimental tool for political intervention and a social weapon of counter-information. This exhibition proposes a journey based on the experiences of the Video-Nou collective and its subsequent transformation into the Community Video Service. Active in Catalonia between 1977 and 1983, the group challenges official narratives during a period when media devices continued to operate under structures inherited from Francoism. The transformation into the Community Video Service consolidates the proposal: video as a service for communication and in situ social intervention, in which images do not constitute an end in themselves, but are part of a process that includes constant feedback and permanent discussion within the community.
