Exposició "L'horitzó abstracte"

Romà Vallès (Barcelona, 1923–2015) is one of the most representative artists of contemporary Catalan plastic arts and one of the pioneers of abstract art in Catalonia. Pioneer of Catalan informalism, his work evolved through different linked series over chronological periods, each closely interrelated with his biography. This exhibition proposes a journey through his abstract legacy, outlines an itinerary spanning more than sixty years of research, and reviews the most significant stages of his intense artistic trajectory. An incessant research that demonstrates the firmness, consistency, and dedication of rigorous work that has culminated in key results. The selection of works traces his vital contribution, especially where the painter manifests great freedom of approach. A guiding thread is established as the axis that holds together his entire discourse, in which the stroke and the spot, the matter and color are the defining elements of his experimentation, and which suggests both microcosmic and macrocosmic spaces, in open views of infinite readings.
