Les Golfes de Casa Canals will host, from September 9 to November 15, the exhibition Muelle de Castilla, a proposal by artist Martin Llavaneras curated by Freya Day in collaboration with Cultura Verda. The show stems from the activity of the port of Tarragona to reflect on the transformations that flows of goods and materials leave imprinted on the territory and the urban landscape. Through a set of sculptures and installations, the artist explores the relationship between infrastructures, matter, memory and language, transforming elements linked to port logistics into artistic forms that evoke movement, storage and sedimentation. The exhibition also emphasizes the footprint these processes leave in toponymy and documentary records, turning data and words into sculptural matter. Recognized for a trajectory focused on the study of processes that shape the territory, Martin Llavaneras presents a proposal that invites us to rethink the relationship between landscape, human activity and environmental transformation through contemporary art.
