Exposició "Pere Portabella: la mirada compromesa"

In the context of 'Acció Portabella', an initiative celebrating the centenary of the filmmaker, a screening programme dedicated to his films expands the constellation of practices surrounding moving image present in the museum's collection. His work is inscribed in a moment marked by censorship and a lack of freedoms, in which cinema also became a way of making visible what remained outside the frame. Portabella works from the margins of the industry and established languages, and builds a cinema that evades linear narration to open spaces for reading and thought. With this gesture, he links the image to forms of clandestinity, resistance, and exposure of what remains hidden.
