It is difficult to understand the trajectory of Frederic Amat (Barcelona, 1952) without considering the role that a number of poets, writers, playwrights and philosophers have played in his development, with whom the artist has engaged in dialogue since the seventies until the present.
It is difficult to understand the trajectory of Frederic Amat (Barcelona, 1952) without considering the role played by a number of poets, writers, playwrights and philosophers in his development, with whom the artist has engaged in dialogue since the seventies until the present. "Vuit" is an exhibition that brings together some of these "conversations" around words, images, strokes and questions. From the unreleased short film titled Al filo (2026), conceived specifically for La Virreina with Chantal Maillard, to collaborations with Mark Strand, J. V. Foix, Octavio Paz and Guillermo Cabrera Infante, among others. Paraphrasing Peter Sloterdijk, Vuit reminds us to what extent artistic creation is a long letter with multiple senders. You can consult more information about the exhibition "Vuit" on the La Virreina website.
