L'A x L]: Danses romàntiques

MONTDEDUTOR - Guillem Mont de Palol and Jorge Dutor This proposal is part of the [L'AXL] programme, five days of shared programming between La Capsa and Teatre L'Artesà where proposals cross disciplines and formats. Danses romàntiques is a solo, created and performed by Guillem Mont de Palol, with direction, scenography and costume design by Jorge Dutor, in which, together, they get their hands on the convention of romantic ballets to try to cure certain cruelties of which we are still heirs. In this journey through the dreamlike universe of the romantic ballets La Sylphide, Giselle, Coppélia and Raimunda, Guillem Mont de Palol uses the descriptive music, conventions, codes, narratives, clichés and mannerisms proper of this genre to propose to the audience an immersive, fun and sensitive experience, all while trying to resignify this genre from action and the contemporary body. Thus, the performer proposes to the audience an ecstatic experience where movement, gestuality and performative action surf between the concrete and the abstract. What other stories can appear in this dance of drama, comedy, magic, mystery and uncertainty? Jorge Dutor and Guillem Mont de Palol, stage creators and performers, work on the borders of different disciplines such as dance, architecture, theatre or opera and their fields of influence in the political and social. They have a very strong commitment to a place that for others is a passageway: being at the limit and not in the centre of things is an ideological position. Their stage practices cross languages and develop something energetic and empathetic: they use humour, absurdity, repetition and music to bring live arts to all audiences with the intention that they come out doing the conga and repeat what they have seen afterwards at home. They have been together since 2009 collaborating with theatres, art centres and festivals in Europe. Furthermore, just after the show, we will be dancing in the lobby of L'Artesà with DJ PAN DE LECHE, two girls and a USB full of songs you won't be able to stop dancing to... To soak it up! :-)
