L’esperit d’una època: música de Narcisa Freixas i Pau Casals

In commemoration of the centenary of the death of Sabadell's Narcisa Freixas and the 150th anniversary of the birth of Pau Casals, this concert proposes a reivindicativa view on two essential figures of Catalan musical culture. On one hand, Narcisa Freixas developed a unique trajectory, marked by dedication to pedagogy and the creation of a repertoire aimed at children and the educational sphere, without renouncing refined and deeply expressive writing. Her songs integrate literary text and music with sensitivity, configuring a direct but elaborate language. The concert thus allows listening to a dialogue between two complementary voices of the Catalan musical heritage of the 20th century, which, in both cases, are being rediscovered, and initiatives like this contribute to normalizing them within programming. Commemoration of the 150 years of the birth of Pau Casals and the centenary of the death of Narcisa Freixas. Activity included within the events of the Pau Casals Year commemoration.
