The central axis of the repertoire is African Suite, by Abdullah Ibrahim, in a version for jazz trio and string orchestra with arrangements by Daniel Schnyder. This work, full of rhythm, lyricism and expressive depth, becomes a meeting space between diverse musical traditions. The programme is completed with works that establish bridges between the classical language and jazz, offering a rich, emotional and contrasted sonic experience. The combination of the string orchestra with the jazz trio creates a unique timbral palette that captivates both the regular audience of classical music and jazz lovers. This proposal is conceived to be programmed in concert halls, classical music festivals, jazz cycles and cultural spaces interested in fusion and dialogue projects between styles. OCCI (Interior Chamber Orchestra of Catalonia) is a stable ensemble integrated by musicians from various Catalan comarques, especially from the interior of the country. Since its inception, the orchestra has bet on unique artistic projects that combine interpretative quality, innovation and rootedness in the territory. With a flexible format, OCCI regularly collaborates with soloists and ensembles from diverse origins, developing a programme that includes classical, contemporary and interdisciplinary repertoire. Its objective is to bring music to the public from an open, creative and committed view to the cultural reality of the country.
