Poetes imprescindibles: Clementina Arderiu

The Gabriel Ferrater Association meets on the first Tuesday of each month at the Santcugatenc Athenaeum to speak with renowned specialists about "Essential Poets". The aim of these meetings is to discover and delve into fundamental voices of contemporary poetry. In November, Maria Callís will speak about the work of Clementina Arderiu, author of the books Cançons i elegies (1916), Sempre i ara (1946), which won the Joaquim Folguera award, És a dir (1959) and L'esperança encara (1969), among others. Arderiu's poetry, highly crafted, deals with themes such as love, the female condition, daily life and death. Initially linked to noucentisme, it evolved towards a more personal style.
