Marc Heilbron holds a degree in Art History from the University of Barcelona and a doctorate from the University of Bologna, awarded by the Royal College of Spain. He was the founder and editor-in-chief of the magazine Opera Actual. He has worked at the Gran Teatre del Liceu and served as a contracted researcher at the Musicology Department of the CSIC (2000-2004). He has participated in national and international research projects, including European Life in Europe 1600-1900 by the European Science Foundation, and has published research papers on musical dramaturgy. He is co-author of History of Italian Opera and Ideal Opera Discoteca, and editor of Collection of Forty Exercises or Progressive Studies in Vocalization by Mariano Rodríguez de Ledesma.
