In 2026, the Democratic Memory Programme of Tarragona focuses its thematic axis on the late Francoism and the Transition. A total of 48 activities have been scheduled, including nine conferences, three exhibitions, four book presentations, three proposals linked to the city's memory spaces, two roundtables, six institutional events, four theatre performances, and seven activities aimed at the younger audience —such as, among others, illustrations and younger games. This year, in addition, the fiftieth anniversary is commemorated of one of the most shocking events in Tarragona: the death of Juan Gabriel Rodrigo Knafo. For this reason, and beyond the institutional event that annually commemorates his figure, the programme incorporates four specific activities —conferences and documentary screenings— that will allow understanding what occurred in other cities of the State and what judicial steps have been taken to clarify the facts.
