From October 5 to 12, Tarragona will celebrate the 8th edition of the Sona Flamenc Festival, with a programme that places special emphasis on female talent. Among the highlighted figures will be Rocío Molina, Las Migas and Cathy Claret, as well as local artists such as Azahar Tortajada and Jesús Blanco, who will present the show Compañero del alma. Over eight days, flamenco will spread across different neighbourhoods and facilities in the city with shows, workshops, open classes and family and participatory activities. Among the proposals will be a flashmob at Corsini Square, a meeting of flamenco schools and entities, dance and cajón workshops, and the family show Sin ojana. The programme will be completed with an exhibition of nearly 300 vinyl and cassette covers on new flamenco at the Teatre Tarragona. The festival will also celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Art i Flamenc School and the 10th anniversary of the Tablao La Herrería, highlighting the deep roots and vitality of flamenco in Tarragona.
