The Lark Ascending

How is the polyphonic past linked to contemporary sensitivity? 'The Lark Ascending' is an immersion for the senses where music, word, space and movement converge to create a soundtrack of great poetic flight. Starting from the complicity born in the award-winning shows of the company Mal Pelo, violinist Joel Bardolet and choreographer Federica Porello lead the Camerata XXI in a programme that inhabits the border between worlds. Vaughan Williams' music is interwoven with the roots of the English musical tradition. In this production, Porello's movement and Etel Adnan's poetics act as another voice of the orchestra, awakening the sound and conflicts of the human soul that resonate in English music. Rather than a concert, it is a research process on perception: a space where the emotion of sound and the freedom of gesture unite to offer a polyhedral, intimate and deeply moving experience.
