Book Clubbing #5: Yo siendo yo : el teatro de la autenticidad en las estrellas del pop amb Hans Laguna

There is as much music as there are ways to experience it. Return to Book Clubbing, the reading club of La Capsa, where songs, albums, concerts, tours and festivals, in addition to being listened to, are also read. During eight sessions, which will correspond to the reading of eight different books, we will attempt to compose a general view of the various ways there are to write about music. From autobiographies to oral history accounts, passing through essays or criticism. In the era of personal marketing, authenticity has become one of the most valuable assets for any pop star. This essay examines how identity is defined and exploited in an industry that demands constant reinvention, especially for women. A reflection on how current mass culture has transformed the romantic ideal of the artist into a brilliant, accessible... and perfectly choreographed product. This third edition of Book Clubbing has been designed and will be guided by Eva Sebastián. Born in Sants, she studied Audiovisual Communication at the UPF. She obtained the Blog Europa grant, which took her to work at Quan arribin els marcians of TV3. She continued her career with digital content at Vice, Playground and Indiespot, and currently combines jobs in different media such as El Nacional, Mondo Sonoro, El Confidencial, Acero, Código Nuevo, Buzzfeed, Playz and Revers. If you look for her, you will surely find her at some live music event, from self-managed venues to the last festival. We couldn't think of a better guide on this reading path :-) REGISTRATIONS AND BOOK COLLECTION Registrations are free and will be open throughout the course (you do not need to attend the whole course, you can sign up for the books that suit you best).
