Els objectes flotants is a story of sisterhood. The production of La Conquesta del Pol Sud is based on a collection of texts by Tessa and Montse. On stage, three performers (Anna Sahun, Elena Gadel and Ariadna Montfort) bring this testimony to life to convey their experience to the audience using the evocative power of the stage. Poetry, dance, music and theatre blend to speak of loss and the emptiness left by loved ones. To speak of how our society approaches death and, above all, to convey the value of life. El Club de las vi(u)das is born as a space, on Instagram, where they publish texts, illustrations, photographs and stories of other widows who want to share their experiences. Because precisely the Club is a place that arises with this intention: to share in a moment that can be so intimate and solitary. The third performer is the dancer and choreographer Ariadna Montfort, specialist in the language of movement, who through her body conveys all the feelings, and channels the energy of the two protagonists. The production, of documentary character, is based on a collection of real experiences and the texts of Tessa and Montse, two women who met in a grief group, became friends and created El Club de las vi(u)das on Instagram. An emotional journey that speaks about loss and, the emptiness left by loved ones. Although it is centred on the grief of two women who lost their partners, I felt very close to it, because all of us throughout our lives have suffered a very important loss. In my case, my brother, work colleague, friend and confidant. I also saw in them my best friend, who lost her husband at only thirty-seven years. What they say, what they feel, I have heard her say it. Clichéd phrases, feelings, the emptiness left by the loved one, the experiences that only the one who has suffered them know... Els objectes flotants is a work full of sadness, that moves and stirs inside, but with a very hopeful message. A production where poetry, dance, music and theatre blend to speak of loss and the emptiness left by loved ones and of how our society approaches death, but above all, wants to break taboos and convey to us the value of life. Els objectes flotants are those small things in which we hold on after the storm to keep moving forward to reconnect.
