Exposició "Absències i presències"

The Maricel Museum reactivates the memory of the Charles Deering Collection with an exhibition that returns great names of Catalan art to their original space. The exhibition proposes revisiting and reactivating a fundamental part of the artistic memory of the Maricel complex. The show brings together a total of 26 works from the Banc Sabadell Art Collection, which allow for the symbolic reconstruction of the legacy of Catalan and Spanish artists from the late 19th century and early 20th century linked to the Deering Collection. The show proposes a return exercise: the works return to occupy the Maricel spaces, reactivating the story of a key moment in the construction of Sitges' artistic heritage and its cultural projection. The set of represented artists includes some of the most prominent names of Catalan and Spanish artistic modernity, such as Santiago Rusiñol, Ramon Casas, Joaquim Mir, Hermenegild Anglada-Camarasa, Joaquim Sunyer, Eliseu Meifrèn, Arcadi Mas i Fondevila, Joan Roig i Soler, Oleguer Junyent, Joan Llaverias, Enric Casanovas or Ricard Canals, as well as other relevant figures such as Mariano Andreu, Xavier Nogués, Darío de Regoyos, Josep Maria Sert, Ramón de Zubiaurre, Rafael Durancamps and Jaume Mercadé.
