Exposició "La Botànica en l'art"

Throughout the centuries, the beauty of plants and flowers has filled artists' works with life and color. This exhibition delves into the richness of their representation beyond visual impact. It explores the symbolism and meaning of plants in art, and shows how they tell stories and reinforce political, religious, or historical messages, as well as add qualities to the works. It also emphasizes gardens and gardeners (artists in themselves), which are recurrent in art. The route focuses on plant elements usually ignored, thereby highlighting their symbolic importance in the works and proposing a new way to value them based on contemporary values such as ecological awareness. Conceived also as a tool to combat plant blindness, it includes botanical photographs by Paula Codoñer, which facilitate the identification of the species represented. The experience is completed with olfactory stations that recreate scents inspired by the works. There are different complementary activities scheduled.
