ORGIA

Notice: the show contains scenes with flashing lights that may affect light-sensitive spectators. Orgia is a contemporary dance piece that gives body to the hypersexualized gaze of the present and explores ways of revealing beauty through the pleasure of moving bodies. This creation by Company Miquel Barcelona fits within the line of research on countercultures that the company has developed in recent projects. In this framework, Orgia proposes to deconstruct choreographic tools from various countercultural dances —voguing, waacking, twerk and dancehall— to generate a stage narrative that questions and tensions the use of pleasure in bodies subjected to an abusive, capitalist and heteronormative gaze.
