Leonora

Saturday 28 November - 20:00h Painting, poetry and theatre join hands in Leonora, a captivating proposal by Alberto Conejero that takes us into the untamed universe of the surrealist painter, sculptor and writer Leonora Carrington. A stage experience of great visual and emotional force. Performed by Natalia Huarte, Max Award for Best Actress 2024, the work follows the artist's youth years and her passage through postwar Spain, evoking the birth of the creative vocation, resistance against adversity and the transformative power of imagination. Inspired by Carrington's own Memorias de abajo, Leonora is a love letter to freedom, to rebellion and to the capacity of art to illuminate the darkest times. Alberto Conejero's dramaturgy leads [Natalia Huarte] by the hand on that daring journey, with his usual and infallible skill to find absolute beauty in the chosen words.
