Sunday 29 November - 18:00h El Tempus Trio has consolidated itself as one of the most outstanding Cambrils formations of its generation. With a trajectory backed by numerous international awards and a celebrated debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York, the trio offers a vibrant and refined reading of the great repertoire for piano trio, combining interpretative excellence, artistic cohesion, and an open view towards contemporary creation. At Teatre Zorrilla they will offer the following repertoire: A tour through one of the lesser-known but most fascinating facets of Ludwig van Beethoven's work: his production for piano trio. This genre accompanied the composer throughout almost all his creative life and became a privileged space to experiment with form, instrumental dialogue, and expressiveness. The works we will listen to allow us to follow the evolution of his language, from his youth years to maturity. The Allegretto for piano trio in B-flat major, WoO 39, is a short work composed in 1812 as an occasional piece for a young student. Despite its modest dimensions, it reveals the melodic elegance and formal clarity characteristic of mature Beethoven. The piece's kind and lyrical character shows an intimate facet of the composer, far from the heroic image with which he is often associated. The Piano Trio in B-flat major, WoO 38, belongs to Beethoven's youth stage, probably written during his years in Bonn. In this work, the influence of Haydn and Mozart is still perceived, especially in formal balance and the lightness of the discourse. However, some traits that anticipate his artistic personality already appear: marked expressive contrasts, brilliant pianistic writing, and a will to give prominence to the three instruments. The Variations in B-flat major, op. 44, composed around 1792-1793, constitute an excellent example of Beethoven's interest in the variation form. From a simple and elegant theme, the composer unfolds a great variety of technical and expressive resources. Each variation offers a new perspective on the original material, alternating moments of virtuosity, lyricism, and humor. This capacity to transform a musical idea without losing its identity will be a constant throughout his entire trajectory. The Piano Trio in B-flat major, op. 11, written in 1797, is one of the composer's first published works for this formation. Popularly known as the «Gassenhauer Trio», it owes its nickname to the third movement, a series of variations on a very popular melody from the opera L'amor marinaro by Joseph Weigl. The work combines the charm and spontaneity of Viennese salon music with extraordinarily sophisticated compositional elaboration. Beethoven exploits the dialogic possibilities of the trio and confers each instrument an active function within the musical discourse. The programme
