Mataró houses five heritage elements of great value: the Roman villa of Torre Llauder; the Baroque ensemble by Antoni Viladomat in the Chapel of Sorrows of the Basilica of Santa Maria; the first panopticon prison of the State, a work by Elies Rogent; the modernist house Coll i Regàs, by Josep Puig i Cadafalch; and the Gaudí Hall, along with the latrine building, by Antoni Gaudí. These five "stars" make Mataró, besides Barcelona, the only city that has works by the three great architects mentioned above, all contemporaries. With the artistic action A la llum de Gaudí, which will link these five stars, the intention is to make known the heritage wealth of Mataró, both in the city itself and in the rest of the territory. This activity is framed within the commemoration of Gaudí Year.
