Nit de jazz

A Teatre Zorrilla, a new cycle dedicated to jazz lovers, Nit de jazz, an essential appointment to enjoy the best live music, launches with a luxury first evening: a double concert of high level, with artists and audience sharing the same stage at Zorrilla to experience music from an exceptional proximity. Nit de jazz also establishes a special link with the 40 years of trajectory of the Escola de Música Moderna de Badalona. Some of the participating artists have been linked to the centre throughout their training and musical trajectory, highlighting its role as a space for growth, creation and promotion of musical talent in the city. Josep Traver Organ Trio & Martí Serra will open the night with the Josep Traver Organ Trio, formed by Josep Traver (guitar), Gerard Nieto (organ) and Esteve Pi (drums), who will offer a vibrant tribute to the legendary Grant Green, one of the most influential figures in jazz guitar. For this special occasion, they will count on the participation of one of the most powerful saxophonists on the international jazz scene, Martí Serra, with whom they will revisit the legacy of the North American master and his memorable collaborations with legendary saxophonists. Irene Reig Quartet – Ànima will complete the evening with the saxophonist Irene Reig, one of the most outstanding and personal voices of the current jazz scene. With an unmistakable sound and great versatility as a composer and multi-instrumentalist, she leads, among others, her own quartet, formed by Xavi Torres (piano), Pau Sala (double bass) and Andreu Pitarch (drums).
