Una petita distorsió

A man at the peak of the world. And about to fall.
He is preparing for the great celebration of his life: the definitive speech, the documents that can change the destiny of many people, the party that must crown it all. But when the past bursts in without warning, the identity he has built so carefully begins to waver. And what seemed a triumph becomes a revelation that turns everything upside down. A small distortion is a monologue built with the minimum scenic resources —word, interpreter and empty space— that, despite its apparent austerity, moves through great cities and small intimacies, through crowds and secrets of friendship, through inner paths that end up being unbearably revealing.
Enric Nolla has written the text with Sergi Torrecilla in mind from the very first moment, and Torrecilla has participated actively throughout the process. It is no coincidence: the work plays with the relationship between the one who writes and the one who embodies, between the author who wants to control everything and the interpreter who escapes him —or perhaps it is the other way around. An autofictional game that is ironic, sometimes grotesque, that questions the theatrical illusion and invites the audience not to be a passive witness.
At the bottom, a question about our time: what does neocapitalism do to a man? What does it do to his way of loving, relating, building himself as a man? And how far is it capable of going before he sees it?
A story with a beginning, middle and revealing ending. Shared like a secret between friends.
