La Torre Bellesguard has created three itineraries that connect it with other emblematic buildings in the city, in its commitment to research and recovery of the memory of key events and figures of our history, now forgotten. The route "Verdaguer and Gaudí, poetry and architecture at the foot of Collserola" unites two vital spaces of these characters: Vila Joana, the farmhouse where the poet spent his last days until his death on June 10, 1902, and today one of the centers of the Barcelona History Museum, and the Torre Bellesguard, the work that Gaudí was building at that time, with gardens that were worthy of Verdaguer's verses. While the friendship between Verdaguer and Gaudí is well known, what is less known is the dialogue between poetry and architecture that stems from their relationship. This route aims to discover this link between poetry and architecture established by two of the most fundamental figures of our country, bridging the 19th and 20th centuries. Although the route was designed to be a guided visit to both heritage spaces and a walk between them, due to the outbreak of swine flu which does not allow itineraries through Collserola Park, this activity will be temporarily held only at the Torre Bellesguard. It will last one and a half hours, from 10:30 to 12 hours. Places are limited and it is essential to buy the ticket through the website. This activity is framed within the commemoration of Gaudí Year.
