24è Festival In-Edit Barcelona

The In-Edit Barcelona Festival celebrates its 24th edition with a schedule dedicated to musical documentary cinema. The opening pays tribute to Marianne Faithfull with Broken English, by Ian Forsyth and Jane Pollard. The film compiles the artist's final performance and interview and includes appearances by Tilda Swinton, George MacKay, Nick Cave, Courtney Love, Suki Waterhouse and Beth Orton. The closing presents The Best Summer, by Tamra Davis. The documentary recovers footage recorded during the itinerant festival Summersault, held in Australia in 1995. It features Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, Foo Fighters, Pavement, Rancid, Beck, The Amps and Bikini Kill, among other groups. The schedule also includes two Catalan productions. Carla Simón presents Flamenco, a short film starring the dancer and choreographer Rocío Molina that explores the relationship between cultural heritage and contemporary creation. Albert Serra presents the Catalan premiere of Seize moments de ma vie, focused on an autobiographical concert by the actress and singer Ingrid Caven with the Banyoles group Molforts. This edition incorporates the Apolo Award for Best Music Video of In-Edit, an award that recognizes creative talent and new audiovisual languages linked to the music video.
