Asian Film Festival Barcelona

The 14th edition of the Asian Film Festival Barcelona (AFFBCN) presents over one hundred independent, experimental, and auteur films, produced mainly between 2025 and 2026. The programme gathers works from 25 countries in Central Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and the Asia-Pacific region. It includes five competitive sections: Official, Official Panorama, Discoveries, NETPAC, and Special Section. The juries award prizes for best film, best direction, and best script in each section. India takes a prominent part of the programme with the India Focus, consisting of twelve films produced between 2025 and 2026. The festival also programmes a retrospective of twelve titles on the Western cinematic representation of India between 1946 and 2023. This proposal coincides with the 2026 Spain-India Dual Year.
