IndiFest - Festival de Cinema Indígena de Barcelona

The Indigenous Cinema Festival of Barcelona celebrates its 19th edition from October 5 to 16, 2026, dedicated to Dreams. Discover new films arriving from the territories, with international guests joining us, featuring a proposal of activities to debate and converse around various topics, with workshops, concerts... and much more. In many indigenous cosmologies, dreams are far more than individual experiences: they are spaces of knowledge, communication and orientation that connect the past, present and future with the spiritual, ancestral and territorial. Sharing and interpreting them collectively can contribute to making decisions, anticipating threats and guiding actions that affect the community. In contexts of territory defence, dreams can acquire a particularly significant political dimension: they become a source of orientation and legitimacy for struggles against external projects or actors that threaten the land, natural resources and community ways of life. The dream territory is also a space of belonging, identity and cultural resistance. Through dreams, the land, rivers, mountains, ancestors and the beings that inhabit them can be perceived as presences with which a relationship of respect and care must be maintained. In this way, dreams question the Western separation between the individual and the collective, between vigil and the spiritual world, and become a tool to preserve knowledge, strengthen the community and sustain territory defence. They are shared territories where knowledge, identity, community and also forms of political resistance are built. Consult all the information on the IndiFest website.
