La truita

At La truita, a couple approaching retirement age has just moved to a small village to open a small organic bakery. New house, new life, they say. On a Sunday, they gather their three daughters and their respective partners for the father's birthday. The middle daughter, however, arrives with a fish: a trout. Lactopescovegetariana, she will not eat the beef that her mother has prepared with so much love. In fact, that is mainly what they will talk about. Why doesn't she do as everyone else? What does 'having convictions' mean? And exactly, convictions of what? Is it appropriate to defend our convictions when they hurt others?
